No on 8 Takes Their Message To The Temple

On Thursday November 6, 2008 — NO on 8 supporters protested alongside the LAPD at the Church of Latter Day Saints in West Los Angeles. Thousands of anti-hate supporters marched and stopped rush hour traffic in Westwood, West Hollywood, West Los Angeles and Beverly Hills. The event was historic. Many supporters showed love by getting out of their cars to applaud and honk.
For those who supported Prop 8, also supported taking away fundamental and Civil Rights already granted by The California Constitution. Many of the religious groups funded Yes on 8 which is unconstitutional taking in consideration the so-called “Separation of Church & State”. Although I do not personally agree with the anti-Mormon message brought out in the protest — I do NOT agree with voting FOR Prop 8 as it was a sign of HATE and strips a group of people from their fundamental Civil Rights.
Church groups proclaim they “Love Thy Neighbor” however by voting FOR Prop 8, their actions represented the opposite message. Also, Church groups should have no right influencing the general public to amend any part of The Constitution and take away fundamental Civil Rights from anyone.
